Trees of Life |
Espelho da Vida, Mirror of Life, is a village located deep in the Amazon rainforest. Situated in a part of the Huni Kuin territory along the Humaitá River, approximately 2 days by boat from the nearest town, Tarauacá. Founded by casiki Tuim Nova Era, Espelho da Vida serves as a spiritual and cultural sanctuary dedicated to preserving and sharing the ancestral wisdom of the Huni Kuin. It functions as a center for ceremonies, healing, and learning, welcoming both indigenous and non-indigenous people to participate in traditional practices. The village is a hub for maintaining Huni Kuin traditions, such as their unique geometric designs, music, and spiritual practices, which are deeply connected to the Amazon’s ecosystem.
